The popular networking concept ‘The Ladies Collective’ will return to Sunderland this October for a Sunderland Business Festival Networking Special.

The Ladies Collective – Refuel event will be hosted in collaboration with Lookers Nissan Sunderland on Tuesday 15th October (6pm – 8.30pm) and guests are invited to spend an inspirational evening with an array of powerhouse speakers, topped with the usual Ladies Collective fizz and fun, whilst supporting women to refuel and realign their personal and professional goals.

The new take on business networking has created quite a stir on the North East networking scene of late with their events which facilitate a safe space to connect, collaborate and thrive. The ethos of the collaboration between House of Hype & Co. and Activated Mindset Online is to fuel women’s personal and professional growth with wellbeing and mindset at the core.

Keynote speaker for the evening will be TEDx Speaker, Creative Director & Owner of Kitui and Founder of The Wonderful Wig Company, Nicola Wood.

Sunderland based Nicola started her company Kitui specialising in high end hair and beauty treatments when she was just 21. Following a diagnosis of breast cancer at just 36 and the discovery of poor services for those with hair loss, she researched the wig industry and started a second business: The Wonderful Wig Company.

Nicola has now secured national contracts with the NHS in every North East trust and is the largest independently owned hair loss provider to the NHS in the UK. Her company is the recipient of a host of awards including Entrepreneur for Good and Most Inspiring Female by the Chamber of Commerce, and 2023 saw Nicola invited to King Charles Garden Party as recognition for her services to the UK.

Brent Gilpin, Co-Director at The Cell will discuss the importance of nutrition and fitness to refuel goals and focus, and a powerhouse panel of business leaders for the evening have been secured to discuss business and personal resilience including Celia Samater, Faculty Academic Support Lead: Sunderland Business School, University of Sunderland; Founder and Managing Director Louise Kennedy of multi-award-winning HR agency, Oculus HR; Natasha McDonough, Founder and CEO of Market Research Agency MMC and Vice President, North East Chamber of Commerce; and Kimberley Cattin, Managing Partner of SB1 Group and Creator of the Original SoapBrows, who’ll also sponsor the event as gifting partner.
