Team GB legend and NatWest Ambassador Colin Jackson will be speaking at a North East business event next week.

The World Champion hurdler has been confirmed as the final headliner for SunFest – the flagship event of this year’s Sunderland Business Week, running from October 13–17.

SunFest, a full day event at Sheepfolds Stables on Thursday, October 16, will also feature Radio 1’s Jamie Laing – co-founder of gourmet confectionery brand Candy Kittens – and Alex Partridge, founder of LADbible Group and UNILAD.

They will be joined by North East Mayor Kim McGuinness for a day of inspiring talks, workshops, live music, and networking in a vibrant festival setting.

There will be sessions on AI, emotional intelligence, digital marketing, business development and Sunderland AFC’s journey to the Premier League, as well as live performance and entertainment throughout the day.

Colin Jackson is appearing at the event as a NatWest Ambassador.

Rita Collins, Regional Director, Yorkshire and the North East Corporate Banking at NatWest said: “We are delighted that Colin will be attending SunFest. NatWest is keen to help accelerate – and celebrate – business growth in the regions and we are thrilled to be playing our part at Sunderland Business Week.”

Tickets for SunFest, which provide access to the full day of main-stage activity, including a packed programme of fringe events, are available for £75.

The day is part of Sunderland Business Week – running for a fifth successive year having previously been called Sunderland Business Festival – and aims to inspire enterprises from across the region, with a host of engaging speeches and sessions from high-profile business leaders and personalities who have pushed boundaries in their field.

The event is being organised by Sunderland Business Partnership, a collective of organisations – large and small – all with an interest in the city’s development, creating opportunities for members to collaborate and grow, which in turn helps Sunderland to be a more dynamic destination for business.

Sunderland Business Week is sponsored by Sunderland City Council, North East BIC, Ward Hadaway, Sunderland College, Gentoo, Procure Smart, Sheepfolds Stables, Richard Reed Solicitors, Sunderland BIDs, Sunderland AFC, New Results, Creo Comms and Stephen Elms.
