Sunderland foodies are set to be served up a mouthwatering new offer, with a brand-new concept burger bar joining the line-up at Sheepfolds Stables.
HERD Sheepfolds – which will deliver a stunning range of handmade patties and loaded fries – will open its doors temporarily for music-lovers attending the Take That concert at The Stadium of Light on June 9 to grab some food on the go from a limited menu, before officially opening as a dine-in restaurant on Saturday, June 13.
Bringing a fresh new dining experience to one of the city’s most popular destination venues, Back of the Pit – the secondary, smaller bar that overlooks the main plaza – has been transformed into a restaurant, where chefs will freshly prepare a range of sumptuous burgers using high-quality locally sourced meat. From juicy classics to stacked specials, HERD Sheepfolds will appeal to adults and children alike, with a kids’ menu that includes mini sliders for little grazers.
With space for 50 guests, HERD Sheepfolds joins a packed line-up of eateries in Sheepfolds Stables, and will serve food for diners eating in the restaurant, as well as on-the-go food that can be enjoyed in the plaza area.
Mark Simpson, general manager at Sheepfolds Stables, said: “We’re delighted to have HERD Sheepfolds join our food line-up. We have something for everyone across the venue’s eateries, and this latest addition will bring the same high-quality dining experience that visitors to Sheepfolds Stables have come to expect from all the vendors we have here.”
Staple dishes on the menu include Bourguignon Burger, Seoul Fire Burger and Buttermilk Chicken Tenders, alongside hand-spun shakes. There are also meat-free alternatives for vegetarian diners.
HERD will be open Wednesday to Sunday 12-9pm. To stay up to date with the latest specials, check out herd.sheepfolds on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
