Gentoo has launched a major £47.7 million investment programme that will deliver improvement works to more than 2,800 homes across Sunderland.
The programme represents a significant commitment to improving the quality, safety and sustainability of homes.
The work will be carried out by a number of Gentoo’s partners, including RE:GEN Group, Esh Construction, PHS, Bell Group and Isoler.
It includes external decoration; installation of new kitchens and bathrooms; electrical rewires; installation of new external communal doors; and roof replacements and external improvements.
This year’s investment programme will also marks the start of the second year of Gentoo’s 10 year ‘Gentogether’ partnership which will see more than more than 900 homes improved in 2026/27.
Peter Akers, Director of Asset and Sustainability at Gentoo, said: “This £47.7 million investment programme is a clear demonstration of our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of our homes and meeting the needs of our customers, both now and in the future.
“We know how important good quality, safe and well maintained homes are to people’s lives.
“This programme will make a real difference to more than 2,800 households, and we will continue to work closely with customers to ensure the improvements are delivered with care and consideration.”
