A Sunderland-based family run flow measurement and waste water business is looking to grow following investment to revamp its marketing and digital technology.
SIRIS Environmental Ltd, based at Washington Business Centre, Sunderland, plans to build on its 30-year history in the waste water management sector by investing in a fresh new image and website to promote its specialist services and attract new business.
Sunderland City Council’s business investment team has advised and supported SIRIS for many years.
SIRIS, which designs, supplies, installs and services waste water flow measurement and sampling systems, was set up by Nick Richardson, as a sole trader, 30 years ago.
Over the last three decades it has built up a solid customer base across the UK – which includes major regional water utility companies such as Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water and Anglian Water – and the company now employs 10 people at its Washington premises.
SIRIS is keen to grow the company further by investing in its marketing with a focus on promoting the sales and servicing work streams and its MCERTS (the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme) inspections.
It is also exploring potential digital technology systems that could improve working methods both internally and for customers.
Karl Bambynek, general manager at SIRIS, said: “Over the last 30 years, SIRIS has organically grown and diversified its service offer to meet the demands of its customers.
“As we look to the future, we want to maintain our strong service offer to existing customers while also looking at ways we can improve the way we work to enable steady growth.
“A fundamental element of our growth strategy will be underpinned by our marketing approach and that’s why we’re currently working with our neighbours at CX Marketing to refresh our website.
“Sunderland City Council’s business investment team has been extremely helpful, and the advice and support we’ve received has enabled us to put our long-term growth plans into action.”
Through a targeted approach to its marketing, SIRIS is aiming to raise awareness of its specialised products and services, which will allow the business to grow steadily while still maintaining the excellent service to existing customers across the country.
