This Summer will see Sunderland host a variety of exciting events and activities, most importantly The Tall Ships Races from July 11 – 14, putting our city by the sea on a world platform – which is why we need your help.
The Sunderland Business Improvement District (BID) are asking city centre businesses, to help make a difference and keep our city looking ship shape in time for the arrival of thousands of national and international visitors during a two day Clean Sweep project.
From July 9 – 10 , the BID will be organising coordinated activity across the city centre to clean up our streets in readiness for not only the main sailing event, but for Northumbria in Bloom and Summer in the City.
The BID are looking for as many volunteers aged 18 and over to volunteer some time and help put a little passion into our city as they undertake a number of key jobs:
- litter picking
- sweeping
- weeding
- painting
- and general house keeping of the city
Whether you can spare an hour or a day, any interest in the project is appreciated.
