North East accountancy and business advisory firm, Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, has strengthened its team with the appointment of an associate tax director.

Liz Rothery, who is a specialist in inheritance tax and trust planning, will work alongside the senior team in the firm’s Seaton Burn office to develop Baldwins’ offering.

With 14 years of experience in private client tax planning, Liz has expertise in dealing with high net worth individuals and the local market.

Having worked in one of the big four accountancy firms for over 10 years, Liz has a wealth of knowledge, which she is looking forward to utilising to help the small to medium size businesses Baldwins works with.

She said: “It is fantastic to be working with a great team of talented individuals who have been very welcoming since I joined the firm. I am excited to develop the business and reputation of Baldwins in the region.

“It is an exciting period of growth for the firm and it is great to be a part of the development of a strategy for regional business.”

Liz will be working closely with the North East tax directors in assisting their clients to manage their affairs in the most tax efficient way.

Regional Managing Partner, Dawn Walton said: “Liz has such enthusiasm for the potential of Baldwins and with the experience, capabilities and knowledge which she has gained over the past 14 years, she will be a great addition to our tax team and fits in perfectly within our Seaton Burn office.

“While our team is quickly growing, we continue to work very closely with each other and our clients, which I feel is what gives us that competitive edge. We have the skills to rival the big four with more competitive prices and a more personable experience for the client. We want to build long term relationships that see a client through from start up to business maturity and on to succession planning and exit strategy.”
